Help the People of Beirut now

The explosion and the consequences for the people in Beirut not only concern us as organisations, but have also greatly touched us personally. We have therefore decided to launch a fundraising campaign "Biking borders 2" (Working title) to help the people on the ground now and on an ongoing basis.

All donations will go towards the construction of XY (define purpose of donation) and will be managed by the organisation XY in a trustworthy and transparent manner.

It is all about collaboration

The re-development of the Port of Beirut and its neighborhood area can only be successful when embracing trustful collaboration. This is the opportunity for a European revival, side by side with the Lebanese civil society.

The project leaders are in ongoing talks with many other Lebanese and international organisations that have expressed their commitment to participate in the rebuilding process.

If you would like to contribute to building an effective port as an engine for vital trade and therefore a better future for the people of Beirut and Lebanon, you are very welcome to support this project.

List of Activities and Events

We would like to inform you about the activities that have been undertaken to advance the reconstruction of the port of Beirut and the destroyed parts of the city. The list of events highlights milestones that have been achieved by the supporters of the project.

The timeline is also intended as a record of the long and turbulent history of the Port of Beirut. A history that demonstrates peoples' constant efforts and unwavering belief in the port's performance capabilities.

Finally, we would like to inform you about the upcoming events in the framework of the dialogue process.

FAQ

What does the planned concept mean for you, the city and the region? Here you will find answers to the most important questions, bundled in the FAQ (frequently asked questions) we have compiled for you.

Please note that the project is still in the concept phase. Even though these FAQs are continuously updated, there may be deviations and changes regarding the project at any time until the planning phase is completed. Especially with regard to the construction and operation phase, only a forecast can be made at the moment.

Be part of the dialogue

The dialogue starts with detailed and, at times, technical explanations of the initiators’ thinking. These are presented as a challenge to those who believe that this proposed development is on the wrong path. We invite others to critique the approach by way of substantive papers setting out the rationale for their alternative viewpoints. We will publish these different ideas on this web site as a basis for public discussion and debate.
